You’ll learn how to use soft pastels step-by-step, exploring layering, blending, and colour techniques as you create a finished artwork to take home. No drawing experience needed – just bring your curiosity!

Who is this workshop for?
This workshop is especially for beginners – no experience needed. If you’ve ever wanted to try soft pastels but didn’t know where to start, this is for you!
What should I bring?
Nothing at all – all materials are provided, including pastels, paper, and boards to work on. Just bring yourself, maybe a drink bottle, and a willingness to give it a go!
Is there parking?
Yes – there’s free parking available near the Morrinsville Gallery on Thames Street and Lorne St; you should have no trouble finding a spot nearby.
Do I need to be good at drawing?
Not at all! This workshop is designed especially for beginners. I’ll guide you step-by-step through the process, and you’ll be surprised at what you can create – even if you haven’t drawn since school!
